Discover our story & journey

The story of coffee begins in Ethiopia around the 9th century, where, according to legend, a goat herder named Kaldi discovered the energizing effects of coffee beans after noticing his goats became unusually lively after eating the red cherries from a certain tree. Centuries later, in the early 18th century, coffee was introduced to Colombia, where it thrived in the country’s rich volcanic soil and ideal climate—particularly in mountainous regions shaded for most of the day. However, Colombia’s coffee-growing regions were deeply affected by socio-political turmoil; widespread violence forced many farmers to flee and abandon their lands. By the 1980s, some families, including mine, began to return and rebuild their farms and livelihoods. I was fortunate to spend my childhood on our family’s coffee farm before moving to the UK as a teenager. Today, I feel inspired to complete the circle by bringing the excellence of Colombian coffee to the UK—honoring my family’s legacy and helping ensure this tradition continues for generations to come.

The Colombian Cafe's coffee is a delightful experience! The rich flavors and smooth finish truly reflect the essence of Colombia's finest beans. Highly recommended!
